Accessibility and Flexibility

Chris’s clients have found online counselling (‘telehealth’) to be a flexible and convenient option. It allows many clients to have easier access to specialised assistance.

Online counselling is also useful for those who have a busy daily routine, limited mobility, have limited access to transport or are living and/or working in regional locations, interstate or are in other countries.

Confidentiality and privacy

It is important that clients who opt for online counselling set up a comfortable and private space for the counselling session where they won’t be disturbed.

Chris uses the Power Dairy online meeting platform to provide a secure and stable connection. Counselling sessions are not recorded.

Process for online counselling

• Contact Chris by phone or email to set up an appointment time.
• Organise access to a smartphone, computer or tablet device with a reliable internet connection.
• Check your inbox for an email from Chris. He will send a Power Diary connection link before your online appointment.
• At the scheduled appointment time, open the confirmation email and click on the link.

Limitations of telehealth

A telehealth service may be subject to limitations such as an unstable network connection which may affect the quality of the counselling session.

In addition, there may be some services for which telehealth is not appropriate or effective. Chris will discuss your personal situation and the appropriateness of telehealth sessions with you.

Fees

The cost of an in-person or online consultation is $200, which is payable at the end of the session by bank transfer. Christopher will discuss your eligibility for Medicare or other compensable funding with you.

Cancellation Policy

As with in-person appointments, if you need to cancel or postpone your scheduled online counselling appointment, please provide at least 24 hours notice.

The cancellation fee charged for online counselling appointments cancelled or postponed within 24 hours is the full fee ($200).
